How To Celebrate Sons & Daughters Day 2019

For some people, Sons & Daughters Day is everyday, however, the day is the perfect excuse to get the family together for some well deserved quality time. How many times after Mother's Day & Father's Day have your little ones said 'why isn't there a day for us?' well, it's official, August 11th is Sons & Daughters Day!

There's so many ways you can spend quality time together for Sons & Daughters day, from days out to cosy days at home, we've got all the ideas we could think of in one list! - There's even a few ideas to get the entire family doing a bit of house work, what more could you ask for?

How To Celebrate Sons & Daughters Day 2019

1. Make Rainbow Breakfast Pancakes

Begin by making special pancakes for your children. Kids adore eating pancakes in their favorite colors for breakfast. Just divide the batter into a couple of bowls, and add food coloring to turn the pancakes pink, blue, yellow, or green. You can swirl the colours together or cook up various coloured pancakes to pile on the plates.

2.  Kitchen Tidy-Up With Disney Songs

Just because it’s National Sons and Daughters Day doesn’t mean you should slave away in the kitchen alone. Encourage your children to carefully wash dishes, wipe the table and counters, and put the syrup away.

The goal is to spend time with your children, not avoid the chores. However, popping on their favourite movies or Disney songs makes the chores feel that little bit more fun and special for the occasion.

3. Have A Picnic In The Park

Taking a family trip to the park with a packed lunch filled with snacks and treats is the perfect way to bring everyone together and of course, tire the little ones out! Play some group activities to bring everyone closer together, whether your kids are children, teenagers or adults, there's nothing better than a bit of family competition.

4. Have A Movie Night

To finish off the day on a cosy note, why not get in your favourite pyjamas and get the family together to watch a movie.
